Description
Insulon Vacuum Jacketed Hose, Low Pressure, Standard, 3/8″ ID.
Standard vacuum insulation maintains a high-vacuum annulus between the inner corrugated bore tube and the outer jacket, eliminating convection and conduction heat transfer. Delivers exceptional thermal performance in the most compact, low-profile form factor in the Insulon hose product line. Recommended for: most cryogenic transfer applications, chiller fluids to -80°C, transient cryogenic flow (seconds/minutes), liquid CO2, and applications where minimal outer diameter is required.
Low Pressure Insulon hose rated to 72 psi at RT (≤100°F / 38°C). MAWP decreases as fluid temperature increases above 100°F; see derating table below. Typical applications: chiller supply/return lines, LN2 transfer with transient flow, liquid CO2 service, low-pressure process gas lines.
Compatible Fluids for Insulon Vacuum Jacketed Hose
- Cryogenic liquids: liquid nitrogen (LN2), liquid helium (LHe), liquid argon (LAr), liquid oxygen (LOX), liquid natural gas / liquid methane (LNG / LCH4), liquid CO2
- Hydrogen: liquid hydrogen (LH2) and gaseous hydrogen (GH2). Fully annealed materials resist hydrogen embrittlement.
- Thermal fluids and coolants: glycol/water mixtures, Syltherm 800, Syltherm XLT, Dowtherm Q, Dowtherm J, other synthetic heat transfer fluids, cryo-chiller fluids
- High-temperature fluids: steam, hot air, exhaust gases, process heating oils
- Specialty and process gases: GN2, GHe, GAr; semiconductor precursor, carrier, and deposition gases
- Corrosive media: add a fluoropolymer liner (PTFE, PFA, FEP) for broad compatibility with corrosive process fluids

Insulon Hose MAWP by Fluid Temperature, 3/8″ ID, Low Pressure
MAWP is constant from cryogenic temperatures through room temperature (≤100°F / 38°C). For fluid temperatures above 100°F, use the derating table below. Round UP to the next 100°F row for conservatism (e.g., a 320°F system uses the 400°F row).

- Are end fittings already attached to Insulon® Hoses?
Depending on the type of end fitting selected, the fitting will either be installed on the hose before shipment or will be delivered in-box.
End fittings that are installed before shipment:
- CGA-295 Brass
- JIC swivel nuts
- Other flared end fittings
- Flanges
End fittings that are shipped in-box:
- Compression unions
- Compression adapters (NPT, BSPT, etc.)
End fittings are an optional add-on. Insulon Hose may be ordered without end fittings, in which case they will be delivered with fully-weldable 316 stainless steel tube stubs.
- Are bulk discounts available?
Yes, bulk discounts are available for qualifying orders. Request a quote →
- Can Insulon® vacuum jacketed hoses be ordered in longer sections and cut to length? No, Insulon® Vacuum Jacketed Hoses cannot be cut to length after delivery. They must be ordered in the appropriate size for installation. Insulon® Vacuum Jacketed Hose are available in lengths up to 65 feet. Multiple sections of hose can be joined with compression unions to achieve runs longer than 65 feet.
- Who manufactures Insulon® Vacuum Jacketed Hose?
Concept Group LLC is the sole and proprietary manufacturer of Insulon® Vacuum Jacketed Hose. Customers may purchase Insulon® Vacuum Jacketed Hose directly from Concept Group LLC, or through one of our sales partners.
- Does adding an outer braid to Insulon Vacuum Jacketed Hose affect the pressure rating? No, adding an outer braid does not affect the pressure rating. Insulon Vacuum Jacketed Hose include the option to add an outer braid to provide additional protection against abrasion. For example, in an application where the hose will be repeatedly dragged across a concrete floor, adding an outer braid is recommended.
- Does Standard or MLI affect the pressure rating?
The maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) guidelines for Standard and MLI hoses are exactly the same. Only the pressure specification (Low Pressure or High Pressure) affects the pressure rating.
